In 26 Years We're All Gonna Die (maybe)...

On Friday April 13 2029 Apophis, an asteroid the size of the Rose Bowl, will become the closest asteroid to pass by our planet in recorded history. Oh and by the way, it may hit us seven years later. Apophis is named after the Egyptian god of Death and Darkness; and for good reason.

Astronomers have determined that the asteroid has an uncertain orbit. Computer models show the asteroid’s range of orbits based on the available data. There is a range within that range called “the key hole”. If the comet passes through that key hole the asteroid will most certainly hit earth seven years later (Thursday April 13, 2036). It would hit the pacific ocean, off the coast of Santa Monica and create an unimaginable tsunami.

If you have thinks to do on your bucketlist, I would try to get those done in the next 26 years.

If you want to hear someone way smater than me talk about it. please check out the video below. I love Neil deGrasse Tyson by the way, he is like Bill Nye for adults.
